1989- Owner and founder Greg Washburn started Washburn Excavating with a backhoe, a small dump truck and a large dream. Since then the company has grown to an extensive equipment fleet and a skilled employee team.

2003- The company was changed from Washburn Excavating To Washburn And Son Excavating LLC when Greg's son Mike joined the company full time. To this day Mike and Greg work side by side with day to day operations.

2005 - This year brought a whole new experience for the company, Washburn And Son branched into commercial and subdivision development. Currently they keep a healthy mix of commercial and residential work

2007 - With the employee team continually growing Washburn And Son decided to actively peruse snow plowing and ice control contracts to keep their employees going year round, ranging from such customers as, large retail, municipalities, warehouses and school districts.

2013- Washburn And Son purchased their first material pit in Minot, selling sand, gravel and other material to other contractors, municipalities and for use on their own sites.

2014 - Mike Washburn became certified in Erosion Control Practices, something that is required to work near any body of water now.

2017 - On one of our commercial property lots we have sold a peice to a local food franchise, construction to soon follow!
